Essential community information and safety resources remain free for everyone, always. Advertising never gates access to help.
No selling of personal data
We never sell residents’ personal data to advertisers. Enquiry details are used only to respond to that enquiry.
No intrusive advertising
No intrusive pop-ups, autoplay adverts or deceptive advertising. Ads are clearly separated from community content.
Independence of community content
Sponsorship never influences public reports, community complaints or editorial decisions. Civic content is independent.
No unverified claims or implied endorsement
We do not publish unverified business claims or imply a business is endorsed by the council or any official body.

How advertising helps Swindon Together
Swindon Together is a free, independent community information platform. Income from local advertising and sponsorship helps cover the running costs — hosting, tools and the time that keeps information accurate and up to date — so the platform can stay free and welcoming for residents.
We are building this carefully. Paid placements are clearly labelled, community content stays independent, and safety resources are never put behind a paywall.
Community sponsorship is a commercial arrangement that supports the platform’s running costs or an agreed community initiative. It is not a charitable donation unless a separate registered charity and the relevant legal status are in place.
Future funding opportunities
The system is being prepared so additional, clearly-labelled funding opportunities can be introduced later:
