How We Handle Concerns

Our transparency principles. How Swindon Together processes resident concerns, evidence and actions.

1

Residents can report issues

Any resident can submit a concern about their area. Reports are not automatically verified.

2

Reports are not automatically verified

A report being submitted does not make it a verified fact. Evidence and verification status are tracked separately.

3

Evidence can be added

Residents and administrators can add evidence to support concerns and actions. Evidence has a verification status.

4

Similar reports may be grouped

When multiple residents report the same issue, the platform can identify clusters. Reports are not automatically merged.

5

Personal information is protected

Personal information is not published on public pages. Anonymous reporting is available where appropriate.

6

Organisations can be contacted

Administrators can log contact with organisations. "Organisation contacted" does not mean responsibility accepted.

7

Responses are recorded when received

When an organisation responds, the response is logged in the timeline. Private correspondence is not published automatically.

8

Swindon Together does not speak on behalf of organisations

The platform is a community tool. It does not represent, control or speak for any external organisation.

9

Platform scores are not official government ratings

The Community Priority Score is a platform metric. It is not an official council priority rating.

10

Resolved status requires evidence

An issue is only marked as RESOLVED when appropriate evidence has been reviewed. Status is never automatically changed.

11

Residents can challenge incorrect information

If you believe information is incorrect, you can report it. Swindon Together will review and correct where appropriate.

Our Commitment

Swindon Together is a community platform. We do not represent, control or speak on behalf of Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Police, businesses or any other organisation unless a formal partnership exists. We are politically neutral. We do not publish private personal information. We do not allow harassment, doxxing or defamatory allegations. We are committed to transparency, accuracy and community empowerment.

Swindon Together
