Bringing Whoville to Swindon: Meet Charlotte, the Christmas Superfan with a 16.5ft Grinch! 🎄💚
For some people, Christmas begins in December. For Charlotte Holland, the festive magic starts much earlier!
With decorations going up around the middle of October, a home transformed into Whoville and an outdoor display inspired by the iconic Home Alone house, Charlotte certainly knows how to embrace the Christmas spirit.
And when we say she goes all out, we’re not exaggerating. Her outdoor decorations include an incredible 16.5ft Grinch!
But behind the spectacular decorations, colourful lights and festive displays is something much more meaningful: a love of family, childhood memories and the happiness that Christmas brings.
We caught up with Charlotte to find out where her passion for Christmas began, how she built her TikTok community and what makes this time of year so special.
A childhood love of Christmas ❤️
For Charlotte, Christmas has always been a big part of her life.
She loves the atmosphere, decorations, lights and the magical feeling that comes with the festive season. Growing up with Christmas being such a special time, she’s always wanted to make sure her own children experience that same excitement and magic.
For her, Christmas isn’t simply about presents or having everything looking perfect. It’s about spending time with the people you love, laughing together and creating memories that last a lifetime.
And one particular memory stands out.
Charlotte remembers the excitement on the faces of her two children, niece and nephew as they walked into the living room to discover the Christmas magic.
There were Santa’s footprints, a carrot that had almost been eaten and even a half-eaten mince pie!
It’s those little details that made the moment so special.
As Charlotte puts it, time goes far too quickly, and she wishes it would slow down.
Welcome to Whoville! đź’š
Charlotte definitely doesn’t do Christmas by halves!
Her favourite Christmas theme is The Grinch, bringing plenty of Whoville inspiration into her home.
She loves making everything feel cosy and Christmassy, but she’s also someone who enjoys going a little over the top.
Outside, the house takes inspiration from the Home Alone Christmas display, complete with plenty of lights and that incredible 16.5ft Grinch.
And when does the decorating begin?
Around the middle of October, before Halloween!
Charlotte loves planning the decorations and getting all the little details right. Her philosophy is simple: if decorating early makes you happy, why wait?
From wrapping presents to building a TikTok community
Charlotte’s Christmas content journey started quite unexpectedly.
One day, while wrapping presents and watching TikTok, she realised she’d never seen anyone wrapping presents or decorating their Christmas tree live.
So she decided to give it a go herself.
It was only her second time ever going live, but the experience turned into something wonderful.
Charlotte has since built a lovely community on TikTok, met some fantastic people and made friendships along the way.
September to December has now become a particularly special time of year, when her Christmas lives get underway.

The perfect Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect!
When asked what her perfect Christmas looks like, Charlotte had a wonderfully honest answer.
She feels her Christmas is always perfect, even if it isn’t exactly stress-free!
In fact, one year she cooked the entire Christmas dinner, sat down to eat and then remembered the pigs in blankets were still waiting in the microwave, ready to be plated!
And perhaps that’s the beauty of Christmas.
It’s not about everything going according to plan. It’s about family, good food, Christmas television, laughter and enjoying the atmosphere.
Charlotte believes there is no rule book when it comes to celebrating Christmas. Everyone should spend it in whatever way makes them happy.
A little Christmas magic goes a long way ✨
We also asked Charlotte what she’d say to anyone struggling to feel festive or needing a little Christmas magic in their life.
Her advice was simple: don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect, expensive or extravagant. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference.
Putting up some fairy lights, watching a Christmas film, lighting a candle or simply doing something that makes you happy can be enough.
Everyone celebrates Christmas differently, and that’s perfectly okay.
And if you want to watch someone who is absolutely obsessed with Christmas and loves helping others feel festive, Charlotte invites you to join her Christmas lives on TikTok.
